Meet the team

Someone has to be willing to lead.

The firm is small on purpose and coordinated by design.

Portrait of Eric Cooper, founder of Sooner Private Financial

Eric Cooper

Founder & Managing Partner

Eric Cooper has spent his life building and leading. From starting his first business at 15 to founding the Sooner family of companies, he has always been driven by a singular purpose: helping people align their wealth with their values and create a life of clarity, impact, and freedom.

For 14 years, Eric has navigated nearly every corner of the financial industry, banking, insurance, wealth management, business consulting, only to discover the same problem repeated everywhere: fragmented advice. Traditional firms prioritize scalability and products, leaving clients with disjointed strategies and blind spots that hold them back. Eric built Sooner Private Financial Council to change that. Acting as an integrated command center, his team brings together six essential disciplines: advanced tax planning, wealth management, income planning, risk management, estate and legal strategy, and business value acceleration. This unified approach helps purpose-driven clients break free from confusion, outgrow outdated teams, and achieve total command over their financial lives.

Clients who once felt overwhelmed or uncertain experience a powerful shift: from reactive to proactive, from imposter syndrome to absolute confidence. This is the transformation Eric lives to create, turning wealth into a force that reflects who you are and what you stand for.

A national champion public speaker, devoted husband, and father of five, Eric lives in New Hampshire, where he pursues wild places as a hunter, coaches youth basketball, and continues his lifelong study of leadership and building things that matter.

Portrait of Josue Mpom, Client Service Specialist at Sooner Private Financial

Josue 'Sway' Mpom

Client Service Specialist

Leadership came early for Josue (joe-sway). The oldest of five children and the son of a pastor, he grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire, and never stopped: he is an accomplished musician who travels the country leading worship, and a former elite high school basketball player who now trains the next generation of athletes. Financial planning was a natural next step, and he went to Cedarville University in Ohio to pursue it. As a Client Services Representative at Sooner Private Financial, Josue brings the same thing to every client he serves: a healthy addiction to the process of empowering people to reach their potential through finances. Off the clock, he follows basketball and spends time with his girlfriend.

Portrait of Zachoia Cooper, Proactive Client Coordinator at Sooner Private Financial

Zachoia Cooper

Proactive Client Coordinator

Fifth of seven children. That is where Zachoia Cooper learned to keep track of everyone, anticipate what comes next, and get things done without being asked twice. As Proactive Client Coordinator, she brings that same instinct to Sooner Private Financial: reducing the effort clients and advisors spend on process so their time together goes to advice.

She grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Calvary University in Kansas City. Detail-oriented, reliable, and quick to serve, Zachoia is happiest when the people around her are at their best. In her free time, she reads and spends time with her nieces and nephews.

The syndicate

A bench, coordinated. Not a roster, listed

Behind the firm sits a syndicated network: tax counsel, estate attorneys, valuation specialists, investment specialists, plus affiliated entities in exit advisory and risk. You don't hire a department store where every counter operates independently. You hire one person accountable for the whole picture, who brings the right specialists to bear in the right order.

The team will grow. It will grow the way the firm does everything else: deliberately, and only with people who raise the standard.

The work starts with a conversation.
